What Else Can I Use Hydrogen Peroxide For?

In many homes across the country, there’s a strong chance you’ll find a bottle of hydrogen peroxide — whether it be in the hall closet, medicine cabinet, or under the bathroom sink (to name a few of the most popular storage spots). However, in addition to reducing the chance of an infection, you can use it to help around the house — but how so?

Here are a few of the many ways that all homeowners can use hydrogen peroxide throughout their humble abodes!

Freshen Up Your Bathtub

Are you tired of using chemical cleaners to keep your tub in tip-top shape? If so, put them aside and create your tub-friendly cleaning paste:

  • ⅔ baking soda

  • ⅓ hydrogen peroxide

Once you have mixed the two household products, begin to wipe them around the basin of your tub (or shower). After about 30-to-40 minutes, wash the paste away, and you’ll have a glistening, gleaming tub on your hands!

Disinfect Your Toilet

Want to keep your toilet germ-free and glimmering? If so, consider using hydrogen peroxide to get the job done! As easy as one-two-three, pour about half a cup of “HP” into the toilet bowl and let it sit there for about 40 minutes; consider setting a kitchen timer to keep track!

Once the timer goes off, use a toilet brush to scrub and work the hydrogen peroxide into the bowl. After that, let your “throne wand” dry and flush your toilet — voilà!

Remove Water Marks from Granite

If you have granite countertops in your home (whether it be the kitchen or bathroom), you know that they quickly acquire water marks. To help combat this, look to hydrogen peroxide for help!

To eliminate the potential of ruining your countertops, do the following:

  1. Take half a cup of baking soda and pour it into a bowl.

  2. Next, add two-to-three small drops of hydrogen peroxide.

  3. After that, mix the ingredients, followed by spreading them on the area.

  4. Let the paste sit there between 5 to 10 minutes.

  5. Once time has passed, take a damp microfiber cloth and wipe the paste away.
