At Tri-City Heating and Cooling, our family aims to provide perfect service and comfort to each and every customer. With each passing day, we are looking for innovative ways to provide an ideal home environment, energy and fuel saving solutions, and exemplary customer service. In the eyes of a customer, we are one of many possible choices. We want to stand out in your eyes as something more than just a company. Take a look at our history that made us who we are.

1964 – Jim and Mac Warakomski start Tri-City as a part-time business, running it out of their house. Tri-City serves Stratford, Bridgeport, and Fairfield, CT.

1968 – Jim makes the business his full-time job. His wife, Mac, becomes his secretary, bookkeeper, appointment scheduler, child bearer, child rearer, disciplinarian, joke teller, and grief counselor. They were in it for the long haul!

1971-1985 – The business grows and word of mouth starts to spread family by family. Eventually, Milford, Orange, New Haven, and Hamden are added to the areas that Tri-City now service.

1985 – Jim and Mac’s second son, Seamus, joins the business. Seamus works long 16 hour days with plans to one day take over the family business.

1988 – Jim and Mac open a laundromat, leaving Seamus in charge of running Tri-City. Appliance parts are now sold over-the-counter.

1990 – The first Tri-City office is rented and the business is now out of the house.

1997 – Jim and Mac sold the laundromat after very successful growth. While Mac goes home to enjoy her days with her grandchildren, Jim heads back to Tri-City to bug the help.

2000 – Seamus officially becomes the boss of Tri-City. Jim retires — but not fully, as he still walks around Tri-City like he is the boss.

2003-2006 – Along with partner Jim Franze, Seamus starts a heating and cooling division. Tri-City merges with Superior Mechanical. The company is now at a total of 45 employees, 24 trucks, servicing 33 cities. John also comes back to work at Tri-City because of his experience with commercial appliance repair.

2006-Present – Tri-City merges with Comstock Heating and Air Conditioning. Seamus’s daughter, Amanda, is now the third generation to work at Tri-City. Amanda oversees day to day operations while her husband is the head technician in the appliance department. A plumbing department has also been recently added as a new division of the company.
