Furnace CT - Furnace Installation and Repair in CT

If there’s one thing we understand at Tri City Heating & Cooling, it’s the bitter cold of a New England winter. Here in Milford, CT, weeks can stretch by with the daily high barely hitting freezing, and winter seems to last forever. Studies have said that, when you account for heating costs, New England is one of the poorest areas of the country! We’re ready to do our part for Fairfield County, and we’re happy to take a look at your furnace to ensure that you’re not wasting a single penny on a furnace that is not operating at maximum efficiency. In fact, it’s important to have your furnace cleaned every winter— and especially if you have one of the old fashioned fuel oil furnaces, the fuel line needs to be cleaned and the pilot light restarted.

Once a furnace is working optimally, however, it can save you a ton of money in energy bills and lost fuel. A modern, state of the art high efficiency furnace can be 98% efficient! That’s a negligible loss of energy to anything other than heating your home. But what about when things go wrong with your furnace? How do you know what precisely the problem is?

When something goes awry with your furnace, one of the appliance service technicians here at Tri City Heating & Cooling will come out to take a look. There are three different types of furnace components, and any one of them could be causing the problem.

The first kind of furnace component includes all of the heat generating devices: the burners that turn the fuel into heat, the draft inducer that ensures a proper oxygen supply into the burner, and the venting that removes the by-products of the burning process.

The next part of the furnace involves the controls and the safety devices— the things that ensure that whatever the fuel medium is, it (and any ensuing flames) stays where it’s supposed to stay, nothing gets too dangerously hot, and also enables you to control exactly the amount of heat that is released into your home, office, or building.

Finally, the last part of the furnace involves the blower and air movement. While heat does rise naturally, especially in heating systems with a complex heat delivery system or which involves multiple thermostats, it’s hard for the controls to function accurately without the assistance of the blowers to ensure that the air movement carries the heated air precisely where it needs to go.

As you can see, all of these furnace systems are intimately connected, and if a problem in any given system arises, it can send the whole system offline or dramatically impact the furnace’s efficiency. Therefore, it’s important to have your furnace examined and cleaned before every cold season, just to head off any potential problems before they become serious issues.
